Welcome to Afghan Watan Encyclopedia! Afghan Watan is a comprehensive online encyclopedia dedicated to providing detailed information about the people, places, and events related to Afghanistan. Previously known as Afghanwiki from 2011 to 2015, the platform has now re-branded under its new name. Our mission remains unchanged: to document and share the rich history and heritage of Afghanistan as understood by its people.

Afghan Watan Encylepdia is a place where you'll find authentic and true history of Afghanistan, it's people and the surrounding region, that is free of any bias. Afghan Watan Encylepdia is run by Afghans only so all data goes through Afghan experts with Afghan experience before it's posted on our wiki. Providing unbiased Afghan content in English language is a challenge especially when most of the research, papers and books written on Afghan history are by the British, Russian & American military people, Afghan grammar that is widely spread in the western libraries and over the internet are by British Generals.

Afghan literature in non-local languages i.e. Pashto, Dari is missing the work of Afghanistan experts such as Abdul Hai Habibi, Abdul Shakoor Rashad, Habibullah Rafi, Siddiqullah Reshteen, Habibullah Tagai, Hassan Kakar etc. Afghan Watan Encylopedia is aimed to translate their work and to make use of their contributions so that non-Afghans can get the most accurate information about Afghanistan.
